Ethernet | Partial | The ethernet controller doesn't work with current Linux distributions but support will be added for Ubuntu 10.04. It may work with Fedora 13 but that wasn't tested. |
Wireless | Works | The Intel wireless controller works just fine. For the Broadcom controller in Ubuntu you need to activate it via the Hardware Drivers program. |

Laptop was tested with Ubuntu 10.04.
The Acer Aspire 1830 TimelineX at the moment doesn't have the best hardware support for Linux but this should all be fixed in Ubuntu 10.10, Fedora 14 and other newer Linux distributions.
