 +===== Notes =====
 +For proper hardware support you will need a kernel with minimum version 2.6.27.
 +The main problem was to compile the 2.6.27 kernel which is relatively new, then install the NVIDIA proprietary driver (177.80).
 +==== Video ====
 +Use the NVIDIA proprietary driver 177.80.
 +There is a small bug that makes the screen turn off when VT switching. Switching back to X solves it, but it is impossible to see the VT screen.
 +==== Sound ====
 +The audio requires the "snd-intel-hda" module from the 2.6.27 kernel.
 +To be able to use the internal microphone, headphone jack sense and channel mode, the latest alsa-driver snapshot must be used (version > 1.0.18a).
 +I didn't test the SPDIF output.
 +==== Networking ====
 +Both the ethernet card and wireless card work. The wireless card needs a kernel 2.6.27 with the iwlagn module to work. The keyboard has a special wireless key that will blink while the network is used. It is possible to use this key to enable/disable the radio.
 +==== Multimedia keys ====
 +The multimedia keys are already recognized properly by xorg and work out of the box. Some other keys are not recognized directly and need the use of the acerhk module with the option "force_series=2020 poll=0". Then, the keys need to be manually mapped using setkeycodes and xmodmap.
 +The laptop has a volume jog on the side that simulates key pressed.
 +From my experience, acerhk is able to detect all the keys, even the most unexpected ones like Fn+F7 that is used to disable the touchpad or the kill radio key.
 +==== Camera ====
 +The built-in webcam is detected (module uvcvideo) and works out of the box. It works well with Kopete and Skype 2.
 +==== Infrared sensor ====
 +lshal reports the sensor as ENE0100, but I didn't find any linux drivers for it.
 +==== Fingerprint reader ====
 +The fingerprint reader is supported by the libfprint library with the AES1600 driver. I tried the demo program but it seems that most of the time the scanning is not so accurate. Not sure whether it's caused by the hardware or software.
 +==== Suspend ====
 +Suspend to RAM and suspend to disk worked for me without further tweaking.
 +Although, when suspending to disk the laptop sometimes doesn't turn off properly and needs to be manually switched off once the harddisk led stopped blinking. After that, the waking up still works properly.
 +===== Summary =====
 +The laptop Acer Aspire 4930G doesn't work out of the box, but after a some tweaking it is possible to make most of the devices work in linux.
