 +Currently the open source radeon module does not support the ATI Mobility Radeon x1600. However support is available in the current version of the [[http://​www.ati.com|proprietary ATI module]]. The proprietary module is required for the display to function.

 +Like all Intel Core notebooks, it is recommended to use a Linux distribution with kernel 2.6.16 or greater on the Acer TravelMate 8200. The proprietary modules is the main hurdle for this laptop, other than that it works well with Linux.
