 +===== Notes =====
 +I run Slackware 13.37 on it now.
 +You need the following drivers for each component:
 +|WLAN BCM4313|brcmsmac|
 +|Gigabit ethernet|atl1c|
 +|HD audio card|snd_hda_codec \\ snd_hda_codec_hdmi \\ snd_hda_codec_realtek \\ snd_hda_intel|
 +|Battery|sbs \\ sbshc|
 +|CPU temp|coretemp|
 +For HDMI audio to work properly with the nvidia drivers you must create a file '/etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf' with:
 +''options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=0xffff,0xfff2''
 +The WLAN BCM4313 may crash the system on any OS. I have disabled it in the BIOS and bought a USB WLAN card.
 +Do NOT delete the following partition as it is needed for fastboot:
 +^Name^Part Type^FS Type^Size (MB)^
 +|sda2|Primary|EFI (FAT-12/16/32)|16.02* (or 18.02*)|
 +I had a hard time finding RAM that works with this netbook. I know that these work:
 +Transcend 2GB DDR3-1333
 +Samsung 2GB DDR3-10600
 +Remember to run 'hdparm -B 254 /dev/sda' on boot so the HDD doesn't destroy itself by spinning up and down continuously.
 +Although the official specs say Optimus, the graphics can actually be put in 3 different modes applicable on next boot:
 +Intel only
 +Nvidia only (default)
 +See here for more info and some scripts to help switch these modes:
 +===== Summary =====
 +The netbook works better than I had expected it to work. In theory everything on it works on Linux. However, the on-board WLAN and Gigabit ethernet have given me some problems, especially the WLAN card, which I have disabled as a result. Note that the WLAN card is buggy in other operating systems as well. The ethernet card works, but can give spurious interrupts and may cease to function until next boot. Probably the drivers will improve and this will not happen anymore. I have not tested and do not use bluetooth. One more word of warning, the ASUS site says "The 1015PN is capable of smooth, crystal-clear playback of high definition videos in 1080p on an HDTV or big screen via an HDMI port.". The fact is that it CANNOT play 1080p videos without stuttering on any OS. It can however output in 1080p on the HDMI port. I suppose the ambiguity on their site is deliberate. Still, it does play 720p videos without stuttering on any OS.
