For touchscreen can be used both X11 evdev driver and eGalax official binary drivers. If you cant use evdev driver (for example - you cannot remove deprecated HAL and use xorg.conf.d) you should use binary driver eGalax:
eGalax drivers is here: http://www.eeti.tw/web20/eGalaxTouchDriver/linuxDriver.htm http://210.64.17.162/web20/eGalaxTouchDriver/linuxDriver.htm
Drivers from eGalax includes some tools such as calibration. Installator is script and need /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
This file can be generated by command:
Xorg -configure
This command will make configuration file for current hardware and will show full path to this file. This file must be moved to /etc/X11/xorg.conf After this operation install script for eGalax driver and tools can be runned. End step - comment strings in evdev configuration file in xorg.cond.d directory that makes tablet and touchscreen work with evdev driver for normal work of touchscreen (without fast click at up-left part of screen by touching to screen).
Also in case of eGalax driver need to comment section “evdev tablet catchhall” in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf or cursor will move to left-top corner automatically. For working touchscreen section “evdev touchscreen catchhall” must be active.
Very good tablet PC. But need to find good desktop environment for use this computer as tablet - for example need configuration for fast screen rotation and call screen keyboard. Debian GNU/Linux is best choice for this tablet PC. Also Windows 7 Satrter (pre-installed OS) is very bad for tablet PCs - too slow and have no good tools for using in tablet mode.
