For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at [[Installation Guide|our guides]] section for distribution specific instructions.

 +===== Notes =====
 +NVIDIA has a set of driver which provide 3D support for the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300. You will need to install these drivers for 3D support. You may like to see our [[Configuring a nVidia graphics chip for Linux|Configuring a nVidia graphics chip]] howto.
 +
 +ALSA version 1.0.14rc1 or greater is required for the audio to work on the Asus F3Jc. At this time no distribution includes this so you will need to install it manually.
 +
 +The r1000 driver is required for the network controller on the Asus F3Jc to function. Since this is a proprietary module not many Linux distributions include it so manual installation is necessary. You can obtain this driver from [[http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&amp;PNid=13&amp;PFid=5&amp;Level=5&amp;Conn=4&amp;DownTypeID=3&amp;GetDown=false#2|Realtek's site]]. Work is being done in kernel version 2.6.19 which should provide support for this as well.
 +===== Summary =====
 +A bit of configuration work is required for the Asus F3Jc so it may be a difficult laptop to deal with for beginners. Future kernel releases should make this easier eventually.
