Everything seems to work out of the box with Gentoo 10.0 but the keyboard lights, the screen dimming and the Fn hotkeys. To have all the previously mentioned things working it is required to install a kernel version 2.6.39 or superior with asus-wmi drivers built-in or as a module. This laptop runs great with linux. Everything is supported, but some things may have to be configured by hand.
